A 16-year-old boy Dublin boy is to be sentenced next week in connection with the fatal stabbing of a young man at a Halloween bonfire in Dublin, back in 2015.

According to Dublin Live, the teenager was due to stand trial for the murder of 21-year-old Lorcan O’Reilly, but the DPP accepted his plea to the lesser charge of manslaughter.

The boy was just 14-years-of-age when he stabbed 21-year-old Lorcan O’Reilly, during a heated row at a bonfire party on Halloween night 2015.

It has been reported that the court heard the boy had been ‘mouthing off’, followed by Lorcan taking a hurley from him, which resulted in the Dublin teen returning with a knife.

O’Reilly was rushed to hospital but did not survive, and passed the following day.

The boy will be sentenced next week.
