Those using taxis in Dublin have been warned to exercise caution, after a woman reported suspicious activity during a recent journey.
According to Dublin Live, the woman was on her way from Finglas to Clonee in Co. Meath when she noticed that the driver was taking her down an isolated dead-end road.
Despite her protestations, he reportedly refused to change route, leading her to jump from the taxi and leave €20 to cover the fare.
She was later picked up by her partner at a nearby garage but said she was left “fearing for the worst” during the alleged ordeal.
Gardaí told the website that they are not investigating any suspicious driver activity in the area but advised people to use the Driver Check App to make sure their taxi and driver is properly registered.
