The annual #FillALuas campaign is in full swing today as people from all over the city are donating a shoebox full of gifts for Dublin’s homeless people in the aim to fill an entire Luas.
Transdev and Inner City Helping Homeless have come together to organise the gift drive that will provide rough sleepers in the city with much needed essentials such as toiletries and hats and gloves.
Volunteers are on hand from 7am to 7pm at the Luas at Connolly Station to take your shoebox, so you’ve still time to get involved!
Already the Luas is starting to fill up with the shoeboxes…

Last year

Over 20,000 shoeboxes were donated last year and they’re trying to beat that amazing record today
Ideas for a Shoebox are:
- Socks, Underwear, hats, scarves, gloves, wrapped sweets, chocolates and toiletries.
- No perishable food, no aerosols, perfumes, aftershave, mouth wash or hand sanitiser. ( thanks )
Last year the shoeboxes were distributed by ICHH to the Homeless directly and to the many charities and agencies working with the Homeless in Dublin, Cork and around the country.
