John Lewis, you just got outdone. Massively.

This ad for German retailer Edeka features an old man (but of course) whose family just keep on coming up with excuses not to spend Christmas with him – only to realise when it’s too late that they probably should have been a bit more time with him.

Throw in a slightly messed-up twist at the end, and it will leave you confused, weepy, and possibly a bit angry.
