Gardai have launched an investigation following an alleged sexual assault on a woman in Dublin 4.
The incident reportedly took place in the Irishtown area of Dublin 4 at 1.30am on Tuesday at Church Avenue.
According to The Irish Independent, the woman was walking home when she was assaulted and was hospitalised in a very traumatised state following the assault.
Gardai sealed off the laneway to conduct a full forensic investigation and have done door-to-door inquiries in a bid to obtain further information.
The woman’s age has not yet been revealed, and no arrests have been made thus far.
