It’s that time of year again where Dublin Airport is packed with people returning to the home sod to spend Christmas with their families.
Today is the busiest day of the year at the airport with over 80,000 people expected to pass through its gates and one million over the next couple of weeks.
As always, RTÉ is hand to cover all the emotional reunions but be warned, plenty of tears are shed.

While it’s not easy for those stuck abroad for Christmas, it’s nice to see some families getting a bit of joy before the big day.
