I’m sure there will be uproar about the title but let me explain a little something to you… All those guys going into town with their grungy looks and the girls in their high heels and short skirts in the middle of winter…They aren’t heading into town to talk about the weather with their mates. Loads of people are heading out into town to find the perfect partner, maybe even to get “The Ride”. There are hundreds of bars, clubs and venues around town where you can go to meet the perfect partner but here are the top 10 places where you are most likely to get the ride. Be responsible and all that 🙂
10th.Pyg Sundays
Maybe it’s the fact that everybody is still in bits from the weekend and that the booze is still flowing but plenty of people have either scored or finally clinched the deal here are a weekend of partying in here. Lets just say that nobody is shy.
9th.The Grafton Lounge
Even when this was Cocoon way back in the day it has always been a great location for hooking up with people. Lots of booze, people all dressed up at the weekend and everybody there for pretty much one thing only.
8th.The Wright Venue
Flicking through their photos on Facebook tells you all you need to know. Ireland’s version of a super club is built and themed around one thing and one thing only…getting the ride.
7th.Krystle
This is where you’ll get the poshest ride of the lot. Filled full of models, celebs, rugby players and other beautiful young things all looking for one thing.
6th.The Pav
When discussing this list internally we all agreed on one thing…Students love the ride. Probably no better place to be looking now that the sun is coming out than down at the pav. Ride central.
5th.Tamango
Not sure how long “where the gang still go” tagline has been on the go at this stage but after several refits, years of marketing and countless rides Tamango isn’t going anywhere. Where the gang still go to ride.
4th.Tinder
Nobody had heard of it just over a year ago but by some accounts there are over 300,000 Irish people using Tinder to find love and more likely…to get the ride. This isn’t going to be one specific venue but use it from the comfort of your home or out in a bar with your mates and let the app do the rest. You’ll be riding in no time.
3rd.The Temple Bar
Temple bar has been getting a lot of stick lately but there are still thousands of tourists popping over. Many are here to meet nice Irish boys and girls with our lovely accents. Would be rude to send them all back home without experiencing Ireland to it’s full and The Temple Bar is the best spot for mingling. Extra bonus marks if an American asks you for a ride without knowing the true meaning.
2nd.Coppers
When you opened the list you presumed this would be number 1 right? Certainly high up the list and everybody goes there for one reason (it isn’t the decor or the high brow conversation) but the reality is that most people are so plastered by the time they leave they are more interested in chips / puking / finding more drink than riding. Still lots of opportunity for some late night horizontal jogging though if you play your cards right.
1st.Whelans
Best known as a music venue but also a great place for getting the ride. It must be the mixture of the adrenaline coming from the performances mixed with the dark corners, super late opening hours and the friendly crowd who are not afraid to mingle. Plenty of couples seen staggering out into the abundance of waiting taxis outside to possibly live a happy ever after life. Or just have some Lols
You might not be comfortable suggesting the best place you suggest in Dublin for getting the ride but you could phrase it as “my friends all say” or “what I’ve heard in work”. Get sharing!
Finished Riding? You’ll need Dublin’s best burger…
