Dublin Shopkeeper Hospitalised Following Violent Assault During Early Morning Raid

A shopkeeper was rushed to Beaumont Hospital with serious injuries this morning following an attempted raid. 

The incident occurred at 8.15am when two men entered the Glasnevin newsagents and assaulted the man in his 40s. 

He suffered serious injuries including a suspected fractured skull, according to Independent.ie

Nothing was stolen during the incident on Fitzmaurice Road and the two assailants fled the scene. 

Gardaí are appealing for information from anyone in the area between 8am and 8.20am, or anyone with information relating to the incident.
