Dublin City Is Being Transformed Into A Giant Walking And Cycling Game This Autumn

Sarah

Dublin city is a lovely spot to stroll around sure, but we all take for granted just how much fun you can actually have in town.

So the news that the city is being transformed into a massive game where people are rewarded with points and prizes for exploring the city on foot or bicycle is pretty deadly.

Running from 13th September to 1st November, Beat the Street is a free, fun challenge which will see more than 130 special sensors called ‘Beat Boxes’ appear across the city.

So, how to play?

Players can pick up their own Beat the Street card and map at their local library or sports centre and swipe as many ‘Beat Boxes’ as possible to receive points and win prizes.

Adult players can create their own teams or register to join existing team or school to be in with a chance to win big prizes which will be announced in the next few weeks, so start choosing your squad soon…

The whole aim of this good craic initiative is to encourage thousands of people to explore Dublin with their friends and family and discover something new about their city, and so far more than 600,000 people worldwide have played Beat the Street with Dublin city one of three areas piloting the scheme for the first time ever in Ireland.

Here’s how it works…

This is gonna be good fun.
