The Irish Times reports that the council says the first floor bar and restaurant does not comply with building regulations and fire safety.
The council claims that the restaurant exposes staff and customers to an ‘unacceptable and unnecessary risk’ by being non-compliant with building regulations, and that an inspection of the premises found gaps in the application of fire resistant coatings to steel in the building, which the council says calls into question the fire resistance of the entire structure.
The judge overseeing the case has returned the matter to Friday, when more information will follow.
