niallharbison

Ingredients
  • Sugar
  • Plain flour
  • Bananas
  • Pecan nuts
  • Eggs
  • Milk
  • Ferrero Rocher
  • Honey or Maple Syrup (optional)

Pancake Tuesday only comes around once a year so I wanted to dream up something super luxurious and hedonistic.

This is the recipe that says “fuck you, calorie counting” and gives you a big hit of joy.

This isn’t healthy, nor is it in any way good for you apart from maybe the bananas but it will leave you wondering why you’ve never thought of putting Ferreo Rocher in your pancakes before now.

Give this a lash, absolutely gorgeous…

Instructions

Step 1

Good thing about pancakes is that you’ll probably have about half of them in the fridge already.

Step 2

Peel the bananas and slice the bastards up into nice thin slices.

Step 3

So lash the bananas, a good handful of pecans and a little dash of sugar into a large pot. All you are doing here is heating them up.

Step 4

Make the pancake mix by lashing the eggs into a bowl with a good fistful of sugar. You don’t need to be super precise with these measurements.

Step 5

Throw in a good amount of flour. The thing with pancakes is to just whisk it together until it feels right. Too thin? Add in more flour. Too thick? Just lash in a little more milk. Simples.

Step 6

Get a whisk out and make sure to give it a good old bash around. Nothing worse than lumpy pancakes.

Step 7

Add the milk in slowly until it is all smooth.

Step 8

What you are looking for here is a consistency where it just falls off the spoon but is still kinda thick.

Step 9

At this stage the pecans and bananas will be getting nice and golden brown.

Step 10

Grab the Ferrero Rocher out of their wrappers. Not rocket science that bit.

Step 11

Cut the bastards in half. You can eat one. I did as you can see by the 5 in the image!

Step 12

Heat up a large pan. Non stick would be best. A small bit of oil or even a little butter if you are being more luxurious.

Step 13

When the pan heats up lash in a big ladle full of the pancake mix.

Step 14

When the mix starts to bubble up they are ready to flip. Shouldn’t take more than 30 seconds on each side if the pan is at the right heat.

Step 15

Don’t bother with the flipping bullshit. That will just end in disaster. Simple little spatula will do the job.

Step 16

Whip them out of the pan and dry them off on a little paper towel.

Step 17

Fold them into little quarters.

Step 18

Lash a bit of the topping on them. Should be lovely and sweet and crispy.

Step 19

Pile the topping as high as you can; you only get to this once a year after all.

Step 20

Place the chocolate around the outside and get ready for a taste sensation.

So off you go; leg it down to the local shop, get these ingredients in and prepare to have your mind blown.

Pancake Tuesday only comes around once a year so you might as well go out in style and do it right. Make these for that special person and you can be sure they’ll be wrapped around your little finger for weeks to come. All sorts of epic so they are!
