Not sure if you’ve noticed, but we kinda like food here at Lovin Dublin — which is precisely why Taste of Dublin is something we can get behind.
Returning to the Iveagh Gardens from June 15-18, this Dublin food festival has tonnes in store for lovers of all things delish.
Every year there’s a different theme and this time around it’s ‘Flavours Of The World’, so every stall will offer foreign dishes or at least put an exotic twist on an Irish classic.
Here’s what you can look forward to at Taste of Dublin…
1. Dublin’s favourite restaurants
We all have restaurants in Dublin we’ve been meaning to try but haven’t had a chance to yet, which is why you’re gonna enjoy Taste.
Over 20 of Dublin’s most popular restaurants will have stalls set up at the festival, including San Lorenzo’s, Klaw, The Porthouse, The Exchequer and loads more.
To sure to sample as many menus as possible and take note of all the eateries you’ll need to visit in the near future.
2. Exciting new experiences
Taste is so much more than a collection of food stalls, with its organisers striving to present visitors to the festival with a bevy of new experiences.
There’s a host of demonstrations and masterclasses, as well as tasting sessions for wine, whiskey and craft beer.
If you’ve got a sweet tooth check out the Lindt Chocolatiers Masterclass, immerse yourself in Spanish culture with Wines From Rioja Tapas Bar, or indulge your glam side in the Champagne Taittinger VIP Suite in association with Celebrity Cruises.
We also have it on good authority that the Barry’s Tea area will be providing an intriguingly unique experience this year, creating a range of cocktails infused with tea flavours. You definitely don’t see that every day.
Whatever you’re into, you’ll find something to tickle your fancy.
3. Top foodies
If you love to cook food almost as much as you love to eat it, Taste is the perfect place to learn at the feet of the masters.
Every year renowned chefs and foodies make appearances at the festival to educate the public and share their culinary wisdom through entertaining and informative demonstrations.
This year you’ll be able to see the likes of Roz Purcell, Neven Maguire, Ross Lewis, Aoife Noonan, Kevin Dundon, Jean Christophe Novelli and many more.
4. A marketplace with a bit of everything
We all love perusing a good market, looking for little bits ‘n’ pieces of high quality goodness with varying degrees of success.
You shouldn’t have any problem finding the good stuff here.
Tonnes of Irish producers will have a presence at Taste’s marketplace this year, like Aunty Nelly Sweets, Ballymaloe Foods, Barilla Pasta, Choc Allure, Clonakilty Black Pudding Company, Jo & Sephs Gourmet Popcorn, O’Donnells Crisps, So Prosecco and The Cupcake Bloke to name but a few.
5. Live entertainment
What’s a festival without music, after all?
Taste wants to create a party mood for everyone in attendance, so expect a diverse line-up of live music to suit all ages, including rock, pop, classics and crooners.
We’re especially excited for 80s tribute band Spring Break and 90s legends Smash Hits, so don’t miss ’em.
