A ‘Half-Christmas’ Celebration Is Actually Taking Place At This Wellington Quay Spot Today

seank

I dunno about you, but all these long days, music festivals and high temperatures are making me think about… Christmas? Oh wait, that’s not true at all.

But it is true of the folks at The Clockwork Door on Wellington Quay, who have invited the public to come join them in celebrating ‘Half-Christmas‘ today.

What is Half-Christmas, you ask? As you could probably guess, because Christmas is now six months away, they’re having a miniature version of the silly season in anticipation.

The thing is, however, they don’t really know how to celebrate this made-up feast day, so The Clockwork Door wants attendees to help them invent “fun, stupid and most importantly weird traditions” for the occasion.

The Clockwork Door is what’s known as a ‘time house’, a kind of pay-as-you-go gaff where you can enjoy unlimited tea, coffee, biscuits, wi-fi, board games and video games — and you’re only charged for the time you spend there (it’s 8 cent per minute for the first two hours).

Fancy getting into the festive spirit during what might be Ireland’s hottest summer in more than 40 years?! Then head to Half-Christmas at The Clockwork Door on Wellington Quay from 4pm-7pm today.
