Oh, hey there weekend!
And festival season!
And sunshine and BBQs and the beach!
GAGH, it’s all a bit too much, isn’t it?
But don’t panic – just shop a little smarter. Dublin’s vintage and pre-loved game is on point, and you can get a whole new, very cool, wardrobe without spending a shed load. Here are our top seven vintage and pre-loved stores to visit this weekend, FTW.
1. Nine Crows
What did we do before this store?
Everything from old-school sportswear (see Nike bomber, below), band t-shirts and flannels to jewellery and kimonos are ripe for the picking in their Ormond Quay store. Nine Crows‘ excellent edit means you won’t rummage for hours in search of a gem – everything here is worth your spend.
2. Siopaella
There are a few branches of this wonderful consignment store, every one of them stocked with pre-loved designer clothing, bags and jewellery.
Pick up good-as-new Miu Miu purses and Michael Kors watches or bring in your own unwanted designer pieces and make a few quid this weekend.
You’ll find them at 8 Cecelia Street, 8A Crow Street and 25 A Temple street South, all in Templebar, and you can’t miss them – their signage outside is always gas and their famous mascot dogs, Louis and Racquel are worth the visit alone.
3. The Harlequin
We’ve listed this as one of our top places to get suited and booted and with good reason.
The Harlequin is one of the most beloved vintage stores in the city (we have it on good authority that some VERY stylish celebrities frequent it when in town) thanks to its one of a kind gowns, suits, hats and jewellery.
The sunglasses here are amazing. It’s on Castle Market St, opposite Jo’Burger, and it’s a treasure trove and a half.
4. No. 38
This is the newest pre-loved store in town, located on Dunville Avenue in Ranelagh.
Think of this as the place where all of the D6 fashionables offload their designer gear – so get yourself a coffee from Nick’s and then go drool over the wish list items here.
5. Dublin Vintage Factory
Visiting the Dublin Vintage Factory on a Saturday morning in Smithfield is becoming a local ritual.
The guys used to be on South William Street, but their new home in Smithfield Square has a lot more room for their vintage pieces and unique finds which sell – wait for it – by the kilo for €20.
Yep. That’s pretty much the rest of the year sorted in clothing terms for the price of a few pints. Crazy shirt, anyone?
6. 2nd Space
This little gem is the sister store of Om Diva, so you know it’s going to have some pretty incredible vintage pieces.
Owner Ruth makes annual global pilgrimages to bring home the best of the best so you’re not going to find these dresses and jumpsuits anywhere else in the emerald isle. This is a really handy store for wedding outfits, FYI.
You’ll find it in the old Central Dairy shop just at the top of Georges Street.
7. Age Action
We’re finishing with one of the best pre-loved shops in Dublin, hands down. Age Action on Camden Street is our secret weapon.
Yes, you’ll get faux fur coats and leather boots for a steal, but you’ll also get the coolest interiors and homeware stuff too. And it all goes to a really worthy cause, making a trip and a few quid spend a no-brainer.
