The first three men and women around the dockland route will bag themselves cash prizes
Attention all runners of Dublin! There's an event happening in the capital this weekend that might just be of interest to you.
Kicking off at 9am this Sunday May 20, the SPAR Streets of Dublin 5K is a chip timed race being held in partnership with Athletics Ireland. The race route starts at the CHQ building on Custom House Quay and from there runners weave through the dockland streets including a crossing of the Liffey at the Samuel Beckett Bridge before reaching the finish line at City Quay.
Making the whole thing sweeter are cash prizes for the fastest male and female runners in the race, with prizes of €250, €150 and €100 for first, second and third place.
Part of the Athletics Ireland Race Series 2018, every participant receives an official race t-shirt, medal, goody bag and the priceless feeling of accomplishment that comes with completing an early morning challenge.
Not a bad way to kick off your Sunday, eh?
Race ambassadors Personal Trainer Karl Henry and Olympian Mick Clohisey will also be running on the day, providing motivation and showing us how it's done.
The entry fee is €15 but you can nab a 10% discount if you sign up, like, right now with code SPAR10. Official registration ends at midnight on Thursday, so you might wanna hop to it.
