Two Hip-Hop ‘Blasts From The Past’ Are Playing In Rathmines Tonight

James Fenton

“Obie Trice, real name no gimmicks”. Many of you will remember the name from the opening line of Eminem’s 2002 hit Without Me but those who are well-versed in their rap music will know that Obie Trice is a lot more than that.

The rapper gained fame in the early 2000s as a regular Slim Shady collaborator and achieved solo success upon the release of his album Cheers. It is the 15th anniversary of that very record that Trice will be celebrating tonight in the humble surroundings of The Bowery in Rathmines.

Joining Obie will be Swifty McVay, who was a member of the Dirty Dozen AKA D12, and it looks like a great evening’s entertainment for anyone looking to relive their youth. Tickets cost €21.50 and can be purchased here.
