You may have noticed that Dublin has recently been sporting some new looks as of late. And that’s because, well, it has. Trendy and beautiful new restaurants seem to be popping up each week, leaving us even more spoilt for choice than we were before.
We decided to list them out, to show you where you need to get yourselves tonight, and generally make life easier for everyone really. How about that.
Now all you have to do is choose…
1. Heron And Grey, Blackrock
A beautifully trendy new restaurant in the heart of Blackrock that has just opened really recently, but is still difficult to get a seat in – always a good sign.
Buzz is surrounding this place at a rapid rate, so get yourself there poste haste!
2. Zozimus, Anne’s Lane
Incredibly beautiful, effortlessly cool and cocktails to die for, Zozimus is perfect for a quiet drink before the madness starts. It’s also known as ‘the cool spot with the umbrellas’, for when your Instagram needs updating.
3. Cotto, Stoneybatter
Trendy Stoneybatter’s newest brunch spot, Cotto, has a menu that will make you swoon.
Their brunch menu includes Mexican baked eggs with grilled tortilla and guacamole, a Lebanese breakfast plate with flatbread, tabbouleh, boiled egg, artichoke hummus, tomato, cucumber, and olives, and a breakfast frittata with sausage, bacon, and black pudding with mushroom, tomato and beans.
Told you, swoon.
4. Pupp, Clanbrassil Street
Dublin’s first ever doggy focused café opened in February, and has been receiving huge attention ever since.
And why shouldn’t they? Good food, great coffee, and the option of meeting fellow pooch loving pals – we just don’t know how something as glorious as Pupp has never been thought of before.
5. Tang, Dawson Street
Opened up by the frozen yoghurt giant that is Yogism, Tang is the brainchild of everyone’s favourite froyo spot and chef Kevin Powell, who teamed up together to create this new venture.

6. Cirillos
Baggot Street’s newest haunt, Cirillo’s, boasts some of the best pizza in town. Just when we think the Italian food game couldn’t get any better… What were we thinking?
Their pizza is affordable, tasty and superbly authentic – meaning you get to leave with a happy tummy AND a happy wallet. Ideal.
7. Union8, South Circular Road
Located at 740 South Circular Road in Kilmainham, Union8 opened its doors a few months ago, and has been getting unbelievable feedback ever since. The space itself is bright and airy, and the food is to die for.
They’re open 7 days a week doing morning coffee and an all-day food menu, as well as a casual evening menu. Oh, and a deadly weekend brunch.
8. The Maritime Café, Dun Laoghaire
Here is where you’ll nab up the delicious and healthy food your body is screaming out for this summer. It’s also a perfectly valid excuse to get yourself out to Dun Laoghaire for a long walk on the prom during sunnier days.
9. Gourmet Food Parlour, Dun Laoghaire
A beauty of a spot in SoCoDu – yes, we said it – Gourmet Food Parlour does exactly what it says on the tin.
The space is a feast for the senses, and that’s before you even look at the menu. It boasts just about everything, and a decent wine list too.
10. The Dublin Cookie Company, Thomas Street
You may have encountered The Dublin Cookie Co. before, due to their rep on the food market circuit and festival scene – but now they’ve only gone and bloody done it – and set up shop in the Liberties.
Their cookies are insane, and comes with the option of ordering milkshakes to wash them down with. What a time to be alive.

11. The new Pichet, Trinity Street
Not new, per sé, just upgraded.
Pichet launched their new menu in recent times, as well as their trendy makeover. It looks beautiful, and the food is better than ever.
12. Tram Café, Wolfe Tone Square
There’s beauty in the ordinary, and the Tram Café has highlighted that beautifully. Quaint, simple and serving up some cracking good coffee – this place is definitely worth a visit.
13. The Coburg, The Conrad Hotel
The Coburg is a new and high end brasserie, located in the gorgeous Conrad Hotel.
It’s been getting rave reviews from the get go, and it’s not hard to see why by the look of it. Perfect for a weekend lunch with mates. And the best bit? It’s really good value.
14. Sprout, Dawson Street
Having gotten a taste for the food business by originally stocking Avoca with handmade fruit and vegetable juices, the Sprout boys decided they wanted more, and set up shop on Dawson Street earlier on in the year.
The queue into here is absolutely enormous every single day, a telltale sign that the food is worth waiting for. This place makes you crave salads, something many of us thought would never happen.
15. Richmond, Richmond Street
Open a little while now and starting to get some serious buzz not only about their dinner menu, but especially their brunch. Reasonable, unbelievable food and really perfect service.
16. Gaillot & Gray, Clanbrassil Street
Fresh baked bread, super tasty produce and very affordable prices, Gaillot & Gray have you sussed for the pizza of your dreams. Originally a beloved Greystones pizza truck, Gaillot & Gray set up shop on Clanbrassil Street earlier this year.
And the people of Dublin 8 rejoiced.
17. Farrier & Draper, South William Street
Dublin wasn’t exactly short on places claiming to bring 1920s elegance to the city, but nonetheless that’s exactly what Farrier & Draper have done in their new venue. And, to be fair, they’ve done it well.
Styled like an underground speakeasy, and occupying the site one held by Lost Society, their bar is as beautiful as you’d imagine, while the downstairs menu packs a decent punch.
The menu has an Italian feel to it, showcasing the best of authentic cuisine.
18. The 1837 Restaurant, Guinness Storehouse
Recently opened just below the world famous Guinness Gravity Bar, 1837 isn’t isn’t just a seriously excellent feed by the standards of tourist venues; it’s deadly, full stop.
Picture small, shared dishes and a few well constructed mains, all designed to match up perfectly with Guinness’ beers.
19. Bang Bang, Phibsborough
Yes, the one with the seats outside. Bang Bang is new to the trendy Phibsborough scene, and is doing pretty bloody well – even when the sun isn’t shining.
Bang Bang boasts, in its establishment, a fresh food market, deli and a greengrocer. It sells everything from homemade sambos to pre-loved clothes. Get in here, you won’t regret it.
20. Meet Me In The Morning, Pleasant’s Street
Named after a Bob Dylan song, this place was always going to attract the attention of others. It’s small (until recently it was Sabor, the Brazilian restaurant) but bright and airy, with the sun pouring in and quality tunes pumping constantly.
They do a terrible good breakfast, lunch and coffee. Do with this what you will.
21. Cantina, City West
And the good news is that Cantina is now open for business at the new Topaz City Avenue service station in City West, serving up some of the best Mexican food this side of..well, Mexico?
22. Füdi, Aungier Street
Füdi opened earlier this year on the corner of Aungier Street and Longford Street – beside the Wolf and Spoon café – giving worker bees in the area a new spot to grab a quick and tasty lunch from.
Although it’s meticulously decorated, Füdi is an independent brand, complete with a full deli.
23. Zambrero, Hatch Street Upper
Zambrero is yet another Mexican place serving us tasty burritos and delicious fajitas.
”But what’s separates them from the rest?”, I hear you cry. Well, Zambrero donates a plate of nutritious food, for every meal bought, to the developing world through its Plate4Plate initiative. So there’s that, and that the food is absolutely killer too. Not too shabby.
24. Pickle Eating House and Bar, Camden Street
Pickle Eating House and Bar opened its doors at 43 Camden Street just a few months ago – down by Tesco Express, Delahunt and Tolteca, and has been doing pretty well ever since.
Specialising in North India cuisine, this place has gathered up quite a following. It’s probably because the restaurant is gorgeous, food is whopper, and staff are deadly. Yep, that’d make sense
