Hello Pay Day – Here Are 8 Restaurants You Need To Check Out This Week


So you’ve survived another month, well congratulations! That was a close one… you probably deserve a treat.

But where to go? 

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, Dublin has us absolutely spoiled for choice when it comes to fine dining and eateries – whatever the weather, whatever the price tag – you’re never stuck for somewhere, even when you want to splurge. 

We’ve picked out some of our current favourites. Now all you have to do is choose.

1. Cirillo’s

Baggot Street’s newest haunt is the one and only Cirillo’s, famed for its terrific food and slick pizza ovens. Cirillo’s offer authentic Italian antipasti, dreamy pasta mains and gorgeous pizzas straight from their wood-fired oven, as well as unreal desserts and ice creams made fresh in-house every day.

They also have a choice of regional Italian wines from boutique producers, as well as a menu of craft beers and Italian aperitifs.

2. Farrier & Draper

What was once the residence of The Lost Society, nestled on trendy South William Street, is now the home of Farrier & Draper – Dublin’s coolest new restaurant and bar. 

Expect 1920s speakeasy vibes upstairs in the bar, with gorgeous exposed brick downstairs in the restaurant. The menu is authentically Italian, with something suitable for absolutely everyone.

3. Featherblade 

This place has just one thing on the menu, and one thing only – big, juicy, decadent steak. 

They have two starters that rotate and as their name suggests, they serve up a featherblade as the main course. They often have a second type of steak on as special – but don’t come here if you’re looking for choice. Steak is all they do but with steak that good, why would you go anywhere else?

4. Bow Lane Social

Are you in the mood for decadent meals, life-changing cocktails and beautiful surroundings? ”Always!”, we hear you cry.

Well then, look no further than Whitefriar Grill’s little sister, Bow Lane Social. Their menu is whopper, catering to every single taste – and each option on their menu is as mouthwateringly delicious as the last. 

But beware, if you’re planning on dining in Dublin’s hippest new brunch spot, you’re going to have to book. This place fills up… fast.

5. De Selby’s

Known locally as one of the prettier places to have lunch in Dublin, De Selby’s is as scrumptious as it is relaxed. Their menu consists of everything from fancy sandwiches to handmade tagliatelle, and all of it is whopper. 

Peter Sweeney, previously of Lock 6 Coffee, is one of the entrepreneurs behind the project. And with a chef on the team who spent a number of years in Spain, you can expect authentic Mediterranean style cooking in a beautifully informal setting.

6. Zozimus

Zozimus is the sort of bar that screams payday, with handcrafted cocktails, a divine setting and super fun atmosphere – here’s where you should be taking yourself when the figure in your back account makes you happy rather than sad. 

The drinks menus in here are as extensive as they are pleasurable, and the food menu won’t let you down either.

7. Chameleon

Ever wonder what Indonesian food looks like? Us too. Luckily we don’t have to take a trip across the world to find out.

The lovely people at Chameleon are ready and waiting to show you around their BEAUTIFUL restaurant, and take you through the delicacies of Southern Asia.

The menu caters to everybody, with dedicated sections to meat, vegetables and fish dishes. They also have an area surrounded by cushions, for when you inevitably stuff yourself after a severe case of gluttony. Ideal.

8. Dada

And finally, the glorious Dada. Setting up a Moroccan restaurant in the heart of Dublin’s city centre may have seemed like a risky move, but one step into Dada and you’ll realise quite quickly how well they’ve nailed it.

The decor will make you feel like you’ve stepped into Aladdin’s Cave and the tagine list alone will make you swoon.

Try something different this payday and indulge in the sweet tastes of North Africa – oh, and make sure to order tea at the end. Trust us.
